Forge A Dog Head Hammer with Mark Ling
Today, these hammers are uncommon in the US but they have a rich tradition in blacksmithing and bladesmithing worldwide, especially in Japan where they are known as Kozuchi and medieval Europe as cutler or saw makers hammers. The highly forward-weighted design improves accuracy, makes them easy to swing, and they are perfect for precise hammer work like setting bevels on blades.
Strenuous Activity: In this class you will be paired with another student where you will use a sledge hammer to strike while they guide the work. Swinging a sledge hammer is a physically strenuous activity.
