‘HIDDEN HISTORY’ TOURS: Starting in September

  Weekend visitors will have the chance to explore little-known details about Texas’ colorful past in new “Hidden History” walking tours.

Whether it’s a confirmed sighting of rock-and-roll icon Elvis Presley in our quaint Dessau Church, a famous scalping attack on a young man near our Jourdan Farm in 1833 or the location along Walnut Creek where Republic of Texas president decided to ordere the capital city moved to what is now Austin, these special tours promise surprises and chuckles straight from the annals of Lone Star history.

This is not your grandmother’s museum walk-thru. Rather, it’s a way to experience Texas’ colorful and little-known history where it once occurred.

Two tours each day will be conducted on the second and fourth weekends September through November. Each tour will give the history of our hhistory sites and historic buildings, plus unexpected nuggets from the past that you won’t learn in school.

Best part: The tours are included with regular admission. Even better, no quiz will be given at the end of each your, kids.
