Our Four-Legged Staff Needs Top-Quality Care

In addition to the hundreds of volunteer staffers who keep Pioneer Farms humming, we also have a dedicated corps of animals that are just as important as we tell the story of nineteenth-century Texas. We need your help to provide them with the best care possible.

Well over $12,000 a year is spent to ensure our Barnyard Buddies have the best diet and healthcare, so we can them the proper environment that allows them to help visitors experience nineteenth-century Texas history. One hundred percent of your donations go to our animal program.

Check out photos below of some of our four-legged staff members — they all have names just like us — and read their stories by rolling your cursor over their photo. Then. make a contribution to ensure they get the best care we want them to have!

Henry I'm the stud at Pioneer Farms and I love to sing. Most days, you can hear me serenading the girls. I also like to greet people at the fence behind the Bell House.

Jackson Compared to my buddy Henry, I'm quiet and love to to watch people from my shade tree. Come by the Cotton Planter's Farm and visit me.

Fluff I'm the senior sheep at the Cotton Planter's Farm, and love to help reenact Texas history even though I'm retired. I love to steal Jackson's food whenever I can.
