Central Texas' Premier Living History Park and Museum

Preserving and interpreting the Lone Star State’s storied history and diverse cultures during the Nineteenth century through an authentic living-history experience featuring engaging programs, signature activities and unique classes in the Texas Folk Arts School

Experience Texas’ colorful past

Seven themed historic areas are open for walking tours: an 1841 Tonkawa Encampment, an 1853 Walnut Creek Greenbelt, an 1866 German Emigrant Farm, an 1878 Texian Farm, an 1873 Stage Coach Stop, an 1886 Cotton Planter's Farm and an 1899 Sprinkle Corner rural village. In each area you can step back in time and experience Texas history first-hand. Explore more than 90 beautiful, wooded acres and discover exciting, memorable ways to live Texas' colorful past with your family. Don’t miss the Scarborough Barn where you can get up close with your favorite farm animal friends! Numbers of volunteer interpreters in costume at the historic sites vary from day to day, depending on schedules. No smoking or vaping allowed on the museum grounds. No exceptions.
