HANDS-ON HISTORY: Two interactive programs

Hands-On History programs are offered for children’s groups on Fridays and to museum visitors on the first Sunday of each month.

One program is offered on the first Sunday of each month for museum visitors, each featuring a different 1800s activity to allow them to see, touch and feel Texas history. No advance reservations are needed for this program. It is free with admission and free to our Members.

The second program, "Hands-On History Plus," is offered for children by advance reservation on the first Friday of each month beginning promptly at 10:30 a.m.

It is geared toward home-schoolers, learning pods, students with asynchronous schedules and any other school-age children eager to learn about the past in an engaging way. The hour-long program is appropriate for learners in grades K-8, the one hour, educator led program will begin with a 15-20 minute lesson followed by a hands on activity.

Learners must be accompanied by adults at all times. Cost is admission to the museum or membership, plus $5 for each participant (children and adults). Non-participating adults and children must pay admission. Advanced reservations are required due to limited space. Sign up here for this special history program.
