Life On the Prairie

from 5.00

Fridays, September-Early December & January-August

Costumed interpreters recreate life in the 1800s with period-appropriate demonstrations on our three historic farmsteads — the Kruger Homestead (a German emigrant family farm in the late 1860s), the Jourdan Homestead (a middle-class settler’s family farm in the 1870s), and the Bell Homestead (a well-to-do cotton planter’s family farm in the 1880s). You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Students can bring a sack lunch, see farm animals and enjoy a variety of informative history exhibits. Reservations required.

FEE: $5 per student/person attending. TIME: 4 hours, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

*Title 1 schools qualify for a discount of $1 per student. Title 1 status must be declared at the time of registration. This discount does not affect the required $50 deposit, and the discount will be taken off at the time the remaining balance is invoiced.
