VINTAGE MARDI GRAS DANCE: Sunday, March 3
A special Sunday afternoon Mardi Gras Dance in Sunday, March 3, will offer an early Fat Tuesday celebration for the 320th anniversary of the spring festival.
The holiday has been celebrated in Texas since the early 1800s, and what place better to do Mardi Gras than in a century-old dance hall.
Tickets are $12 a person or $20 per couple, an old fashioned bargain. You can buy them below or at the gate.
Better yet, the jazz will be performed by by the New Orleans Jazz Band, an authentic sound for this holiday that was born outside the Crescent City centuries ago.
Part of our Heritage Music Series, the dance will run from 2-5 p.m.
Many thanks to our generous sponsors Austin Chronicle and Harrison+Webb for making this vintage dance experience possible.
