TWO FOR TEXAS: Now booking for Spring 2017
Years after filming their two-time Emmy award winning show at Pioneer Farms, the Biscuit Brothers are returning to their beloved farm to produce a brand new musical, “Two for Texas”.
This live action show is a musical journey of a young mockingbird searching for its home with help from a shy but curious armadillo. Together the two find friendship, loyalty and Texas history.
A highly interactive show, “Two for Texas”, will feature some classic historic songs like “Deep in the Hearts of Texas”, “The Old Chisholm Trail” and of course “Texas our Texas.” Plus, a few original songs written by the Biscuit Brothers.
All of this will be performed in Pioneer Farms’ new addition, the historic Wessels Dance Hall. Wessels Hall is a century-old Texas dance hall that has witnessed lots of history. It was built by hand by two brothers from Germany as a community gathering place in West Point, a small farm town north of La Grange.
For years, the hall was a "mixed” hall on the musical circuit. "Mixed" halls, like Wessels, allowed a variety of music, from German and Czech polka to rhythm and blues to western swing and conjunto.
Come be a part of history!
The hour-long show is offered by advance reservation on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from Mach 1 to April 28, 2017. Shows start at 10 a.m.
The show contains the following TEKS curriculum connections: History, Fine Arts, Language Arts, Science (Animals and Habitats), Social Emotional Learning.
