TRAIL ROOTS' PIONEER TRAIL 5K: Saturday, November 12

The Pioneer Trail 5K race is coming up on Saturday, Nov. 12, on a route that traces the route of the historic Chisholm Trail. This year, proceeds from the history run will benefit the victims of Hurricane Matthew in Haiti.

The run will occur in the morning, with a start time of 8 a.m. for the mile run and 8:30 a.m. for the 5K, before the museum opens for the day. Registration includes a t-shirt, refreshments and admission to the museum for the day. Refreshments will be available

Erik Stanley, owner and principal running coach at Trail Roots, said the races will offer runners a unique opportunity in a new venue much different than other Austin events. Trail Runners has made this a benefit race for the hurricane victims.
