Classes & Workshops

Pioneer Farms offers a variety of classes and workshops in pioneering skills to adults and children, ranging from blacksmithing, quilting and traditional woodworking to Dutch Oven cooking, cheesemaking and weaving. We also offer field lectures in Architecture of the 1800s, the History of the Blacklands Prairie, Girls of Grit (Women in Texs history) and other topics.

The classes, workshops and lectures are offered from 1-5 on Sundays. All classes and workshops are conducted at Pioneer Farms in historic shops and on our historic sites, which are not air conditioned. Our lectures are conducted in the field on the museum grounds, and walking is required.

See our Class Schedule for a full list of our current offerings. You can enroll online or by mail, as instructed in the online booklet. An enrollment form is included in the online booklet.

Credit

Many of our classes, workshops and lectures can be taken for Community Credit hours through Austin Community College. Enrollment for those must be through ACC at www.austincc.edu.
