Open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 10-5. Open Wednesdays and Thursdays by reservation.

Admission

General admission prices are $8 for adults, and $6 for children. Children 2 and under are free. Admission for groups of 20 or more is $5 each. Admission prices for special events such as Austin Family Music Festival are higher. Please pay admission in the General Store by the front gate.

 

Directions

Pioneer Farms is located at 10621 Pioneer Farms Drive in northeast Austin, just east of Interstate 35. Exit I-35 at Braker Lane, go east and follow the signs. From Parmer Lane, a mile north of Braker, go east to Dessau Road (third traffic light), turn right and go to Braker Lane East (first traffic light).

Accessibility

Pioneer Farms wants everyone to be able to enjoy themselves as they step back in time to the Blackland Prairie of the 1800s. Most, but not all, of the historic buildings are accessible by wheelchair. However, buildings and walkways are authentic to the 19th Century, which may impose certain restrictions. Graveled paths in the historic areas may be difficult for wheelchair travel. Handicapped parking is available close to the Front Gate at Sprinkle Corner.

 

What is Pioneer Farms?

At Pioneer Farms, you’ll find five themed historic areas to explore: an 1840s Tonkawa Encampment, an 1860s German Immigrant Farm, an 1870s Texian Farm, an 1880s Cotton Planters Farm and an 1890s Sprinkle Corner rural village. In each area you can see and smell Texas history first-hand. Explore ninety beautiful, wooded acres, and discover exciting, memorable ways to experience Texas. past with your family. Don’t miss the Scarborough Barn where you can get up close with your favorite farm animal friends!
