HISTORICAL MERIT BADGE CAMPS

Come earn the Boy Scouts of America's four Historical Merit Badges from our history experts, working as they did 100 years ago when Scouting was founded. The requirements for the Pathfinding, Signaling, Carpentry and Tracking badges can only be earned from now through Dec. 31, 2010. This will be the only time Scouts can earn these four keepsake badges in celebration of Scouting's centennial celebration.

Pioneer Farms' history experts will offer qualified instruction to allow Scouts to accomplish the requirements for these special badges on Saturday, Sept. 25, and Saturday, Nov. 13. Reservations are required. Space is limited. Additional days may be set aside if there is demand. All instruction will occur at Pioneer Farms, 10621 Pioneer Farms Drive.

Times: Tracking will be taught from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Signaling will be taught from 10 a.m. to Noon, Carpentry will be taught from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. and Pathfinding will be taught from from 4 to 6 p.m.

Prices: $15 per badge session, or $50 for all four. The Carpentry merit badge will have an extra fee for materials to meet the requirement.

Reservations: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or 512.837.1215. Reservations will be first-come, first-served.

Camping: Camping is available on the Pioneer Farms grounds the night before the badge sessions for an additional fee of $10 per camper.

Instruction: Merit badge counselors meet BSA standards. Two-deep leadership and buddy system rules will be enforced.
