Pioneer School Policies
Please read these before signing up for any classes.
Unless otherwise noted, workshops and classes are conducted at Pioneer Farms, 10621 Pioneer Farms Drive, Austin Texas 78754.
When you arrive for your class or workshop at Pioneer Farms, please check in at the General Store to verify enrollment and receive instructions.
Attention: Parents Attend a workshop at Pioneer Farms and we'll watch your children. Cost is $6 per child for four hours.
Space is limited and class spots are reserved on a first come, first served basis. Classes are held rain or shine.
Classes may be enrolled in either through Pioneer Farms, through Austin Community College or with individual instructors, as noted in the schedule.
Fees must be paid in full before enrollment is completed. Enrollment must be reserved and completed no later than one week before the class. No walk-ins are allowed.
Minimum age for all blacksmith and carpentry classes is 14. Others classes is age 10, with parent. Signed parental permission is required for all enrollees under age 18.
Manual arts classes will use historic tools and machinery. Enrollees will be required to complete safety instruction and sign a release form before starting classes.
Pioneer Farms reserves the right to change instructors and class sites without advance notice to enrollees.
Certified volunteers at Pioneer Farms can attend Pioneer Farms-run classes for free, but cannot reserve and occupy more than two spaces per class.
Proceeds from the classes and workshops go to support the ongoing
historic preservation activities and programs at Pioneer Farms.
